Description
The objective:
The purpose of the Open Minds symbol was twofold: to express the public image of Swiss Re, and to to inspire those participating in the events to actively contribute to the dialogue. Originality was of paramount importance.
Execution
To launch the event, a film team travelled all around the world and interviewed more than 80 people of different ages and origins. This provided material for a short film that shows everyone asking their big question to the future via website.
At the same time the Open Minds Blog made people aware of new innovative projects and future topics were published and commented on daily. The results served as the basis for the conversations at the events.
At the events, giant head sculptures brought the wishes, dreams, and hopes of the people to life with thousands of LEDs and inspired discussions.
After the last event in the series in Beijing, a documentary film about the questions and insights of Open Minds will be published as a legacy for coming generations. This means that everyone who contributed will be involved once more, knowing that the big questions of the future can only be solved together.
Outcome
The result:
After the successful kick-off in Zurich and London, the heads were featured at discussions in New York and Beijing. Further discussions will continue in 2014.
The heads offer much more than just visual stimulation. They convey a lasting message: the most important questions surrounding the future can only be solved together.
