OVERVIEW

Description

“2048: Nowhere to Run” is an original prologue film for Blade Runner 2049. It features Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista) as an outlaw Replicant in hiding who has to risk everything to save an innocent life in a crime-infested Los Angeles market.

Execution

Set in 2048 Los Angeles, “2048: Nowhere to Run” debuted online on September 16, 2017, following the film’s first prologue film “Nexus Dawn” on August 30th and Blade Runner 2049’s official trailer last Summer. “Nowhere to Run” left audiences on the edge of their seats with the adrenalin-driven event that set things in motion for the film’s October 6, 2017 theatrical release. It dropped on Warner Bros.' YouTube, with a 48-hour media exclusive on Apple, and across social channels - Facebook, Twitter, instagram. Over one week, it was covered extensively by a wide range of media outlets, including Esquire, Vice, Gizmodo, The Drum, Fast Company, EW, Nerdist, and more. Entertainment tastemaker Fast Company gave high praise, writing, “as far as entertainment marketing goes, creating new pieces of complementary content to enjoy are suggesting an encouraging way forward beyond the traditional trailer. Fanboy catnip at its finest.”
