OVERVIEW

Description

NOTE: PLEASE JUDGE THE LONG (PRIMARY) VERSION

The film features a man who has been diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Although his life cannot be extended for very long, he does have an important short-term goal to live for: to see his daughter’s wedding. Remembering the long hours his daughter practiced the piano when she was a girl, he decides to do the same. With great determination, he learns to play a song she once learned.

On the day of the wedding, the daughter looks to her parents’ table, but doesn’t see her father there. She fears the worst. Then she hears him haltingly play the song that he learned for her ceremony. And she cries—mostly with joy.

Some time later, the daughter and mother place upon the mantel a picture of him playing piano. The closing super reads: Leave only good memories behind.
