Description
A-Z of Music is an ambitious new installment in i-D's long-running A-Z series that explores an eclectic variety of music and brings together rising talent and established legends to create a uniquely individual musical composition unlike any other. Composed by Dave Harrington, the multi-instrumentalist and producer that makes up half of Darkside, and directed by filmmaker Sam de Jong, i-D’s A-Z of Music effortlessly stitches together 26 live performances captured for the video, creating a new collective composition.
Execution
On April 10, 2017, we released the A-Z of Music video on i-D. From April through June, we amplified the reach through social activation via i-D and throughout VICE O&O, high-impact media, talent extensions, social media cutdowns. In addition, Marc Jacobs amplified across their platforms as well.
Outcome
The A-Z of Music launched April 10, 2017 and has already made a cultural impact through initial video views, social engagement and audience sentiment. The campaign has delivered 592k video views across YouTube and a total of 980K video views across YouTube and Social. Additionally, the audience is excited and engaging with the video while responding positively with a 97% sentiment, significantly exceeding the agency's benchmark (80%) by 17% points.
