Description

Wunderman needed to inform our clients and suppliers that we were going to renovate our offices in Madrid. We launched the email notice the day after Madrid´s Mayor received the bad news that Madrid would not get the 2012 Olympics. (Madrid was under major construction in its pitch for the 2012 Olympics. The Mayor was criticised for putting his residents through “suffering” for nothing when we lost the bid.) We tapped into this insight and used a touch of humour to ask our clients to be patient and forgive us (and the Mayor) for any possible inconveniences.

Outcome

As this was only an informative campaign we do not have quantitative results but the office refurbishment went well, we finished on time and the clients didn't suffer any communication problems. Many clientes called to congratulate us for the mailing and the way we used it to inform them.
