To show how convenient and fast the check-in would be, we approached TAM passengers as they arrived in the check-in area distributing mini pastimes (Mini puzzles, Mini Words, Mini hang) each one of them with at most two or three boxes to be filled, that they could answer in few seconds. With the pastimes we bring the following message: “Spend time waiting. Make your flight fast: check-in in our totens”, next guiding them to the totem. In an interactive and fun way, we transmit our message moments before the passengers go through the stress of the conventional check-in line and invite them to change their habits and do the TAM easy check-in.
Outcome
After the mini pastimes action, TAM boarding sector could improve the flow of people in the lobby and reduce the conventional check-in waiting line (before the action the line had an average forty passengers waiting to check-in. A little more than a month after the mini pastimes project the line was down to less the thirty people waiting, representing a 25% reduction in volume). The check-in online alone represented a 10% increase in volume.
