Description

On the island of Corsica, surrounded by turquoise seas, there once lived a mysterious creature. Mischievous, cheeky and playful, he is the Fullettu. Rooted in this legend, we created Alba – a true Corsican beer.

While the sun shines high above, the Fullettu sleeps peacefully. Awake and alive, he comes after you at night. He wreaks havoc, pinches you and prances around to keep you up all night long. He laughs and claps at his trickery, but you can never see him.

Execution

Inspired by the Fullettu’s cheeky, nocturnal character, we designed the Alba beer brand complete with naming, visual identity and packaging.

Infused with a special fluorescent ink, Alba’s label reveals the two sides of the Fullettu.

During the day, the Fullettu sleeps calmly with eyes closed. When in a nightclub, the fluorescent ink transforms the Fullettu’s face, as day turns to night and night gives way to day.

Outcome

Following a successful launch in June 2017, Alba’s distribution has gone beyond the city of Ajaccio to the entire Corsican island, surpassing the 10,000 litres objective. Alba is now available at over 200 bars, restaurants and night clubs on the island, with plans to expand to mainland France, and extend the range. The Alba brand will be deployed further to retail with the opening of a flagship “Brasserie Alba” planned for 2019.

The Fullettu's mischief has only just begun.
