OVERVIEW

Description

To launch Wataniya Telecom Allo Voice SMS service in an innovative yet simple way, whilst bringing to life the personalised concept of voice messaging.

Execution

Voice SMS represents more than just a service. It is a one-to-one messaging medium that's real close to making a personal call. This revolutionary new service was supported by a campaign quite as unique and novel as the service itself. The classic carrier pigeon was replaced by a talking parrot, which carries an “emotional voice message” between two separated lovers.

Outcome

The idea was an instant success as the talking parrot embodied and personified what Allo SMS was all about. Customers subscribing for this service via SMS, website and Wataniya showrooms shot up to 35,000 users per month, a remarkable success rate of 15%, as opposed to the average 4% direct mailing response rate in Kuwait.

People took such a liking to the talking parrot; many are requesting his voice as a ring tone for their mobiles. The success of Voice SMS did not see a decline is text SMS. In fact, now it generates additional revenue for the client’s business.
