Execution

As our campaign rolled out in 2014, we saw that people were loving the Android characters from our commercials, and the democratic spirit of the brand. We partnered with the world’s greatest innovators -- from engineers at Mitsubishi, to Diversified Media Group, to our own Google Creative Lab -- to create the most interactive experience around our brand, in the crossroads of the universe. It was a first of it’s kind -- the largest UHD board in the world -- and brought the Android brand to life in a way a typical marketing message could never do.

Outcome

Our first of its kind Android digital board generated 9.8 million impressions in Times Square, over $750K in earned media, nearly 90 million earned impressions, and over 159 million in social reach. Over 150 countries were represented on the TSQ board, with 500K characters created and 70K featured directly on the board. Not to mention we always showcased over 22 of our products, and 38 of our content partners. In the end, we didn’t just plaster our ads on screens for people to see-- we invited them in to become a part of the brand we’re building.
