We took parts from a car that was wrecked in a drink driving accident and assembled a wheelchair.
We then displayed it in high-traffic locations where this crude example of art imitating life, juxtaposed with a hard-hitting message, caught the attention of passers-by.Finally, we put up pledge boards for people to show their support for the campaign.
Outcome
The installation cost was below USD$2,000 but the response was great and it also received free coverage in the media including TV news and newspapers.Over 10,000 pledges, and counting. This is an on-going campaign.
