Execution
IdeaConsequently there is - at first glance - nothing, but nothing to see on this invitation.
A seemingly empty sheet of paper. The recipients had to get into the thing and discover its purpose. The entire message was printed as a true water mark. To read the invitation, the white sheet of paper had to be held against light.
Outcome
ResultsIn its category the exhibition “Nothing” was the most successful one of the year. 15.402 visitors exceeded the expectations by 50 %. And on top: Lots of buzz in the contemporary art-scene. The invitation did polarise the audience. The reactions went from pure rejection to admiration expressed by other curators and the artists who were part of the show.
