OVERVIEW

Description

HUGO BOSS, in cooperation with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, makes significant contributions to contemporary art by awarding the Hugo Boss Prize with prize money of US$ 50,000. In this context the bilingual, very understated website www.hugobossprize.com offers the nominated artists an additional platform for presenting their works and helps the prize to achieve still greater recognition by means of the Internet. Accordingly, the six artists move into the foreground of the layout. In an endless loop their animated bodies, acting as dynamic silhouettes within the space, form the basis for the navigation. Their curriculum vitae and the works they have officially entered are presented, as are works specially created for the website. To cast still further light on their environment the artists can introduce themselves to the public with the aid of a DV and Polaroid camera or a questionnaire. The result is a mixture of art and information that is well worth seeing.
