OVERVIEW

Execution

Positioning Qualcomm as the driving force behind today’s technological revolution, the idea was to reimagine Eugène Delacroix's 1830 masterpiece 'Liberty Leading the People'. Together with art historians we re-imagined what the scene of the French revolution would look like from the opposite angle. We implemented new aspects and details, previously unknown to the public.

We recreated the same skyline, using Delacroix's original painting technique. Actual cobblestones from the streets of Paris were paved on a 100m2 surface on which the setting was built. Original armoury from the French revolution were used, as well as 19th century fabrics for the tailor-made costumes.

To do justice to this national symbol, it was showcased on a large scale (1135m2) billboard on the outside walls of the Louvre, where the original painting is displayed.

The final image is not a composition but a single shot, no post-production re-work was done apart from color corrections.
