Execution

The launch of the promotion was accompanied by the launch of a new musical career – a rapper called “El Feo del Barrio” performed a three-minute hip-hop track entitled “¿Y tú qué harías?”(“What would you do?”). In the lyrics, he talked amusingly about what he would do if he won 600 euros in a bag of Bits.The campaign ran across various media. A video was shot, and this could be seen on the campaign website, and downloaded onto PCs, mobiles or iPods. The song was also played on radio and music TV stations, just like a normal single release.The promotion was communicated on the Bits packaging, which included directions to the website where people could watch the video.

Outcome

During the promotional period, distribution increased by almost 10% and sales by 3.6%. The video was watched on the website by more than 20,000 people, and downloaded thousands of times.
