Execution
India Book Distributors wanted to spread the love of books and reading. They therefore tied up with the Kamala Mehta School for the visually challenged and needed a way to get people to volunteer to read to their students. Then, classic children's books were sent out to names from their database, with covers re-designed to make it appear as though the recipient was the author of the book. Further details were provided in the inside jacket of the book.
Outcome
Of the 400 people contacted, 190 agreed to volunteer a few hours a week at the school to read to the students. Subsequently, they expressed a willingness to continue with the activity, even spreading the word to their relatives and friends to do the same.
