Description

SKETCHBOOK is a specialist book store catering for hip designers and trendy advertising types. The store wanted to turn it’s first-ever "sale" into a relationship-building event that went beyond ‘just selling.’

Execution

We wanted to do more than announce the sale. We wanted to celebrate it. The idea was to create a language to promote the sale. Working with a well-known typographer, we created our very own, original font called "SKETCHBOOK-SALE". It was this new font that we used to announce the sale, through a unique print ad, posters and t-shirts. Every customer who bought an item during the sale received this original font as a gift.

Outcome

The campaign created a lasting and branded reminder of the shop - a branded-celebration that will live on every time our font is used in a piece of work.

Traffic within the store increased dramatically, leading to a huge increase in sales - some people even walked in just to buy the poster.

Increased likeability and involvement towards the store; there was amazing appreciation of the act amongst the customers and many of them offered to create new fonts.

A font-design studio has offered to buy the font and market it.
