Description
From relationships to work to their deepest secrets, girlfriends talk about everything, except for one thing – breast exams. With breast cancer being the most common case of cancer in women worldwide, it’s imperative that women talk to one another about prevention. To expose this issue in an organic way, we brought together pairs of best friends and interviewed them about their relationship. We asked them a series of questions spanning from experiences they’ve shared to how far they’d go to save each other’s lives. At the end of the interviews, we asked each pair of friends if they talk about breast exams. We then captured the emotional reactions between friends when they realized that they don’t talk about getting breast exams and how important it is that they do.
Execution
We created a heartfelt, emotional video featuring a montage of dialogue between best friends. They each converse about their friendship and experiences they’ve shared together. In the end, we reveal that while each pair of friends talk to each other about everything, the one thing they don’t talk about is getting breast exams. This realization causes them to vow to one another that they will be “Breast Friends” and remind each other to get checked for breast cancer. The result of our video is a story of friendship and how it has the power to save lives and create change.
