Description
Throughout time, the greatest men and women of history have asked questions like ‘can this work better?’ leading to answers which helped create lasting legacies for the working world
We believe in the power of questions…
Because each better question we ask serves to find new and better answers to help our clients, communities and governments work better.
This is why we have an end line which is also our purpose. ‘The better the question. The better the answer. The better the world works’.
In this film we see the most famous historic figures from the past representing science, the arts, business and government come together in one incredible location to meet, share their knowledge and ultimately ask us all a critical question – what legacy will we create?
Execution
How could a multi-national professional services organization cut through the noise of undifferentiated ‘me too’ B2B marketing?
By creating a meeting of history’s greatest minds and legacy-builders in one location.
But how do you find such look-a-like people from around the world many of whom are only known from engravings or paintings?
The challenge was seemingly impossible: to find people who looked identical to Leonardo da Vinci, William Shakespeare, Bessie Coleman, Frederick Douglass, Frida Kahlo, Queen Elizabeth I of England, Abraham Lincoln, Murasaki Shikibu, Socrates, Marie Curie, Nikola Tesla and more…
And, in just two days.
We cast real people in 7 different locations around the globe who had to be instantly recognisable as those historic icons. And we needed lots of them too.
It was also crucial to select people known uniquely from different cultures, and of both genders, given our organization’s commitment to global diversity and inclusivity.
Outcome
Writing a big idea and making it are two different things. And as far as big ideas go, bringing together the greatest men and women in history from around the world in one location, must be up there with Ben Hur.
It’s both a production dream and nightmare.
Casting all around the world. Finding the right location – real but other worldly. Remote enough to look unusual, but can be easily accessed by 150 people from around the world.
Most period productions are one era. Imagine every period in one film from ancient Greek to present day. Then imagine using so many non-actors to carry off such huge iconic figures.
Then add the technical hurdles of limited budgets, no time, high winds, international crews – it goes on – we’re thankful for one of the most amazing and accomplished production teams we’ve ever worked with.
