OVERVIEW

Description

The inspiration came from a simple question, “How can we change the world with just our thoughts in real-time?” Since we had both VR technology and neurosensing technology at hand, we thought to combine these two technologies and create a real-time product, which could visualize brain activity and change the virtual world with our mind alone.

In the era of brand commerce, storytelling and transaction have converged and new experiences have become central to the way that brands communicate. With this innovative technology, we bring consumers inspiring and engaging brand experiences.

Execution

BVRAIN is a head-mounted device that fully integrates virtual reality and neuro-sensing technologies. It uses a state-of-art, emotion-sensing technology to visualize your brain activity and enables brain adaptive games and content.

We designed and developed the software and hardware with our in-house R&D team. The current version of BVRAIN contains two demos:

1. BVRAIN Visualizer

After a short scanning process, users are able to see a real-time abstraction of their brain in compelling and interactive 3D visuals. The system will output emotional values based on the user’s brain activity. These values will also be mapped onto the corresponding areas of the brain.

2. BVRAIN Adaptive Game

In a coin-collecting VR game, users see obstacles based on their brain activity. Their entire journey is generated by their actual brainwaves and focus. This will open up a whole new area for adaptive gaming.

Outcome

We conducted a trial run with Coca-Cola to deploy our BVRAIN experience in key Wanda cinemas in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in April 2016. In the three months of the installation, over 90% of the people who took part in the BVRAIN experience went on to buy the recommended Coca-Cola product. 15% of the people that took part in the BVRAIN experience shared the results in social, which is 382% higher than the average sharing rate of HTML5 campaign content in WeChat (Source : Tencent).

We believe BVRAIN will become a new platform for brain-computer interface that will benefit different fields including marketing, medical and entertainment. In the future, we could use BVRAIN to make neuro-sensing games that simulate telekiness-type super powers, treat certain psychological disorders and facilitate meditation.
