Description

We wanted to communicate the idea that creativity is a playground of the mind. We created 24 scenarios that celebrated play as a way to unleash creative energy.

Execution

We boarded each scenario's concept, then worked with our director to cast and develop shooting boards. We were briefed at the beginning of May, shot for two days in the middle of May, then edited, graded, animated and composited each scene, as well as designing an interactive screen and finishing June 16th.

The screens formed in the divider between the main stage and the VIP area. There were also screens behind the main performance stage and LED panels that wrapped the DJ booth platform. A screen at the end of the pier featured the interactive content.

The event had a nightly capacity of 5,000. The two main screens were 6 metres in size, the Interactive screen was 5 metres and the stage screens were 10 metres.

Outcome

The event content was so well received, the Cannes Lions organizers ran it nightly on the main screen outside the festival Palais. The interactive screen saw constant engagement through both nights, there was massive engagement with attendees throughout the night, and steady crowds for each nightly screening at the Palais.

The Galas are now the main evening event during the Lions. The visuals play a major role in branding the event and creating spectacle.
