Description
When ANC Youth League president Julius Malema started singing an old revolutionary song "Dubulu iBhunu" (Shoot the farmer) at political rallies, it divided a country and spawned near anarchy in South Africa. After the song was banned by the Constitutional Court, we ran an ad depicting how anything can happen – even possibly the rise of a 'replacement' song. The ad positioned the Cape Argus, Cape Town’s biggest daily newspaper as the most credible source of political journalism and information. Like the song, the ad created debate, with one radio station even refusing to play it, saying it’s too controversial.
