Execution

Beau's real life story was reflected through an innovative installation in Circular Quay, where it appeared, through the use of sensors and speakers, that a cat had been abandoned in a bin. This social experiment of sorts intrigued passers-by who peered in, and were then served a flyer urging them to change the fate of Beau.

Outcome

Just under half of the people who walked past the bin stopped, came back and opened it. They did more than just choose; their actions helped us raise enough money so that our choices have become easier. We can an additional 3,900 cats a week, along with being able to de-sex around 1,000 cats helping us significantly reduce the number of animals brought to the RSPCA. (Some people also chose to call the park ranger. He was a very busy man).
