Background

With the rise of artificial intelligence, tourists are increasingly turning to AI chatbots to research information about their holiday destinations. This unfortunately often leads to incorrect answers and generic recommendations. What’s worse: By consulting AI for insider knowledge, they miss out on the charm of real human interactions with locals – one of the main things that make a stay in Austria so unforgettable. Because AI chatbots will never be able to convey the typical Austrian charm and particular outlook on life.

Idea

The Austrian National Tourist Office launches the world's first "Authentic Intelligence" and replaces artificial intelligence with the wit of real people. On ChatSkiPT.com, Austrian ski instructors – the most iconic representatives of the Austrian way of life – answer live questions from users on topics such as skiing, winter holidays and anything beyond. This way, we convey typical Austrian charm and genuine local insider knowledge. Because when it comes to Austria, "authentic" beats "artificial".

Strategy

We leveraged the broad public attention generated by the media hype around new AI launches to position the tourist destination Austria as an authentic counterpoint to this frenzied development. With a launch trailer that parodies the keynotes of major tech players, we announced "Chat SkiPT" – the first 'Authentic Intelligence'. In a world where AI chatbots are increasingly taking over areas of everyday life, we rely on the expertise of real people who gained incomparable experience on the ski slopes of Austria.

Execution

ChatSkiPT.com is designed like popular AI chat bots and connects users directly with real ski instructors. We created a product launch trailer for ChatSkiPT that parodies the keynotes of major tech players. We optimized it for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to promote the new interactive service. On ChatSkipt.com, users from all over the world got in live contact with Austrian ski instructors and received genuine first-hand insider knowledge and tips about regions, culinary highlights, hidden gems and winter activities. Potential tourists experienced Austrian charm and received links for bookings, directly from the real experts who know the ski slops of Austria like no other.

– Over 4.6 million completed views

– Over 50% video completion rate on YouTube

– 402,500 website visits during the live chat phase

– 4.5 minutes average stay in the chat
