Galaxy is now fully-interwoven into the world of reading. One of the most powerful influences is the partnership with Channel 4’s Richard and Judy. The Richard and Judy Galaxy Book Club makes or breaks books in the UK (rather like Oprah in the US). Via their 15,000 reading groups and a similar relationship with Asda’s Galaxy Book Club, over 26 million ‘Galaxy recommends’ books are in circulation.Galaxy has also helped highlight new talent via short story competitions and gives the readers a chance to vote for their favourite book in the Galaxy Book Awards (the only high profile awards that invites reader participation) screened on Channel 4.This activity gives Galaxy a continuous, valued presence in their core consumers lives and has created a unique communication channel.
Outcome
This evolving campaign really achieved full momentum in 2007, with the brand becoming one of the fastest growing in products in the snack food arena posting a 20% year on year growth rate.
