Description

Coca-Cola Light wants you to remember one simple fact - Like is not Love. It is the reminder in your day to pause, take a sip and take a breath. Listen to your heart. Follow your instincts. And Choose Love Over Like. Everyday.

Execution

This anthemic commercial for Diet Coke involved a 7-day shoot throughout Chile. Spanning over 20 locations with multiple moves each day and a cast of 25 OCPs to coordinate, the project was truly a testament to love as everyone worked together while scripts were being finalized just a few days before shooting.

Due to the relative newness of filming in Chile, coordinating permissions for all of these locations for the ever-evolving production meant hard work from the production team - not to mention quick thinking. When subway officials halted production due to complex camera move, the cinematographer asked to demonstrate the move's safety. The officials still kicked them out - but the cinematographer had secretly been running the camera and the shot made it into the cut.

The shoot had several stunts including a run into a freezing ocean during a riptide, a swing constructed on an overlook, a pulley system which lifted a woman off a piazza as if she was flying as well as effects such as exploding streetlights and bursting powder. All of these were practical stunts and effects with the actresses themselves, and showed the prowess of the developing production community.

It was a massive shoot, but the local team never gave up, delivering on each vignette. With so many cast, locations, and crew, it truly was an achievement in production to capture all of the moments you see in the piece and create such a vivid snapshot of like versus love.
