Description
Design a vinyl record and sleeve for Calvin Harris’ Summer Anthem ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La’.
Execution
Because the record was in effect a sort of ‘teaser’ for this larger campaign, it had to look authentic so it would be taken seriously by the DJ’s. So we went with a bold and simple design incorporating the Calvin Harris digital font and one of the characters that would later make the campaign famous.It was a limited edition pressing of only 1,000 copies on a Picture-Disc vinyl making it a must-have for collectors.
Outcome
The design struck a chord and the record now has its own auction life on Ebay and in Independent record shops.On side A is the original track that was part of a 60” and 90” TV ad, and on side B is a great Nu-Disco remix from producer Tom Neville that was played as expected in mains Berlin, Paris, Ibiza and London clubs over Summer 2009.
