Execution

We created the Applause Group – people organising flashmobs in six Polish cities. They promoted the events in the usual, underground way, via internet discussion forums and online communities.We also made a special programme for an online TV station, educating a wider audience about what flashmobs are, and inviting them to the final event in Warsaw “to give applause for the start of spring”.

Outcome

The flashmobs were fun events which attracted coverage in the local media. Almost half of those who heard about the events said they had told others about them. The Applause Group organised 1 200 short flashmobs in six cities over seven days, and 1,500 people came to the final flashmob in Warsaw.
