Description
This idea changes the way Brazilian people read the news. The absurd news, before reserved to the political section, moved to the comics section. Every time a new political fact emerges, it’s selected and published as a comic strip. It seems like a joke, but it is just the political life in Brazil.
Execution
Just like an editorial in a newspaper, there is no closed forecast. Facts happen and they become news. We followed the same logic. Absurd facts happen and they become comic strips, every day and crafted on handpicked news that deserve to become comics. Those facts are analyzed by the Estadão’s editor-in-chief. And, when it applies, they are published. The idea started as a pre-election project, but due to public acclamation, it will remain as a permanent part of the newspaper. The comics have appeared in some editions of the printed newspaper, totalizing 274,221 newspapers. In the digital ambient, the comics were published to our base of 10 million followers and reached more than 100k viewers.
Outcome
The comics were printed in a newspaper with a daily run of 274,221 copies. It also appeared to our 134,482 online subscribers. We posted on our social channels to our base of 10 million followers and reached more 100K viewers. But the biggest result is the continuity of the project, which started as a pre-election project but, due to its success, has become part of Estadão’s editorial project.
