Description
The great recession that started in Europe, on top of bumped up gasoline prices, has made our economic crises even worse. Naturally, people were utilizing public transportation, especially buses for the most cases, and we aimed to cheer these bus riders’ lives. Workers, students and even mothers on their way to grocery shopping use bus everyday in their lives. For them, bus is not just a source of transportation, but companion for their lives.We’ve decided to open a concert to cheer the lives of citizen on the bus. The concert took place right on the bus. Specially produced songs were sang by 5 famous musicians, rejuvenating the tiring lives of citizens.
Execution
A car was sent to the family who needed it the most, who applied via the website. They were required to describe why they need a car more than anyone, and how they could reshape their future with the car.5 people were selected for the service each month, and the story was told via a web-cartoon. As many people read about the stories via web-cartoon, and posted their own inspirational cheers, the life of our neighbours became more hopeful. The web-cartoon was spread through Twitter and various other blogs, creating more chances for others to participate in this event.The Hyundai Motor Group gave the desired model of the car to the selected neighbours a month after the first feedback was posted. The neighbours recreating their lives with the gift have been shown on TV, printed press and the internet.
Outcome
More than 10,000 inspirational feedbacks were posted on the Gift Car website, and they were spread through Twitter promptly. The Hyundai Motor Group has given total of 50 cars to the people who need one the most, and is still continuing to give 5 cars per month in 2012. By such action, the customers have come to think of the Hyundai Motor Group as the companion of life, not just another high quality car making company.
