Background

The One Show Exhibition in Japan is presented each year by the Ad Museum Tokyo. Graphic design for the exhibition needs to reflect the high quality of the works on display, and create a sense excitement that helps increase attendance and audience satisfaction.

Idea

Our idea was to create portraits of mythical birds that represent an aspect of the creativity displayed by One Show award winners. Striking in appearance, each portrait incorporates elements that evoke the particular passions and skills that enable award winners to soar to soar above their peers and explore new creative dimensions.

Copy line (featured on all posters): A flight of discovery to unknown worlds.

Execution

To execute our design concept, we envisioned four species of mythical bird, with each one representing a particular combination of skills and creative sensibilities that are characteristic of One Show award winners.

Outcome

The 2019 exhibition was a extremely successful, with attendees spending more time on the premises than in past years. We also received a large number of inquiries and favorable comments about the posters, and were even urged to make them available for purchase.
