Description
The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the most respected orchestras in the world. But it seemed like Czechs don’t appreciate their national musical treasures anymore and they were perceiving classical music as "boring" ...as well as the musicians. In this spot, we show the real members of the National Orchestra "living through music" in a totally unconventional way for the Czech audience. Spot graduates with on-coming honored world-class conductor Jiří Bělohlávek -who is to receive Order of the British Empire- and who is known as a very strict man. In the execution, we go beyond the concert into enjoying the music with their performers; since classical does not mean boring.
Execution
We created bird houses and put them in strategic locations around the city (Parks and close to Rudolfinum the National Concert Hall) The imaginary birds were singing masterpieces from Smetana, Dvořák and Vivaldi. On captions listeners could read about how the birds were inspired by the music performed by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and they could also download the songs via QR codes. The news about the singing birds spread out quickly around the country, making headlines on the news and making the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra an inspiration to many again.
