Description

An interactive game on Microsoft Windows Live Messenger proved to be a highly effective solution for the Royal Australian Navy, targeting an Australian audience 4.4 million 15-35 year-olds who use Live Messenger to communicate with their peers. The game, Battleships Extreme, has been hugely successful resulting in over 2 million game plays and over 750,000 unique visitors in the four months since its launch. Of the 125,000 people who have clicked through to the Defencejobs website for more information, 1040 applications have been processed for a range of Navy positions, boosting enlistments by five a week whilst driving down the acquisition costs of recruits by 77 percent.
