When a TV channel has such amazing shows as Discovery does, the best advertising is their own content. So, by adding an uncommon button to the viewers’ remote, we keep reminding them to check out our channel every time they turn on the TV.
Outcome
After 6 months of planning and execution, the remotes were released in February 2013.
They are now being delivered to the new customers of the Pay TV Operator – an average of 10,000 each month. In the first 3 months, Discovery Channel registered an 18% increase in its ratings versus the previous year. And for every new subscriber, new clicks will come.
