OVERVIEW

Description

The film script is set in a typical Indian family living room, where the son has brought home his girlfriend and is seeking the entire family's approval to marry her. The film starts off in a very tense atmosphere where a strict mother is asking very harsh and pointed questions to the girlfriend and the atmosphere is very tense. A dialogue heavy script which starts off on a lot of drama and slowly transforms itself to a light hearted humorous family moment. The dialogues are written in a way which are very relatable to the Indian audience and situation truly encapsulates the changing face of theNEW Indian family.

Execution

Film opens on a stern looking mother. She asks sternly, “So You Wish To Marry Our Son?”

A living room setting, On a couch seated is his family. While across the couch is a girl sitting nervously, on the arm of the chair is a young man sitting next to her, offended.

The silence is broken by the footsteps of their help. Sensing the tension in the room, he stops undecided.

The mother turns back to the girl, “You want to marry Rahul?”

The girl responds affirmatively

Instantly the mother responds, “But why? You could find someone much better.” A smile slowly creeps on her face

“Mom” The boy is shocked.

She simply ignores her son. “I mean, he's educated and earns a little”

The father jumping in, “And looks just about OK”

Grandfather adds in, “And he’s not that tall as well”

“my brother is afraid of the dark! He sleeps with the lights on at night" his sister says between laughs.

The father almost pleading, “My dear, we are family. We can’t escape.”

“why are you getting trapped?” finishes the mother.

The girl is giggling and responds, “I can’t help it,I have fallen in love with his family.”
