OVERVIEW

Execution

We created a free Tummy Translator app that translates tummy rumbles into food suggestions, which you can then order from Domino’s.

Once users had selected their hunger levels and held it against their tummies, we were able to push relevant discount codes and suggestions of new products, which they might not have previously chosen, from our huge menu. It would also send out push notifications (from their tummies) during peak ‘meal’ times. We launched the app with a film charting the pioneering 1960s science of gastro-acoustic enterology, which led to us building the app.

Outcome

People loved it. In the UK and Ireland nearly 70,0000 people downloaded it in the first two weeks, using it almost 150,000 times. Online sales were up. Positive brand recognition was up to 94%. There were over 14 million social impressions. It was ranked 3rd in the simulation game charts and 58th overall in the app store. It had the lowest CPD Domino’s have experienced to date. It was written about in the Daily Mail, Telegraph, plus overseas in Spain, Germany, France, Russia, Japan and on Fox News in America where it wasn’t even available. And all for a build cost of £5,000.
