Description
1 in 3 New Zealand women will be affected by domestic abuse during their lifetime. The Women's Refuge Crisis Line provides them with a safe way to speak out. To engage donors in the plight of women silenced by abuse we tapped into the modern phenomenon of facebook, which enables us to share every detail of our lives. Bucket shaking and door-to-door appeals had lost relevancy with donors, so we created a new donation mechanism, turning facebook status updates into dollars. The supporting television ad used typography to demonstrate the words an abused woman desperately needs to say, but can't.
