This was the launch of Häagen-Dazs’ new concept and tagline Don’t hold back. Without dialogue or a voice over, the music played a huge role in the film. But the chosen track didn’t just add energy and express that don’t-hold-back-attitude – it actually helped communicate and cement the tagline and brand message. Together with a professional composer we created a new version of the iconic track Galvanize by The Chemical Brothers. A song in which they actually sing “Don’t hold back” as a mantra. The sound was big and pompous, yet playful, with two differently schooled choirs singing together. It was an interesting mix of classic and modern. Since this campaign, the track has been the Häagen-Dazs anthem.
