OVERVIEW

Background

Leading dermatologists from around the world were our main target. We knew that if we could make the Eclipse trial famous to them, they would talk about it with their peers. That’s why we sponsored one of the largest booths and the world’s largest dermatological congress.

Execution

The cinematography choices within this film were made to enhance the emotion of the performance, while ensuring our work looked like nothing our customers have ever seen before.

The use of light played a crucial role with the Eclipse film. Its job was to become a symbol of hope for patients around the world. To create this feeling, we used two major lighting techniques (rigged lighting and spotlights) to create senses of bleakness and hope within our stylised atmosphere. The delicate control between these two light forms was central to this film.

The other major decision was to shoot on 16mm film. Although, this increased post production time and meant we had no ability for live action replays, we knew it would bring grittiness, texture, and a surrealistic look that would give our audience a more fulfilling and human experience.
