A number of television stations announce to their viewers on special dates that they have acquired the rights to air matches from the UEFA Champions League.Almost all of these advertisements use the same audiovisual components- epic, slowed down images of memorable goals and moments from Champions League history, as well as the famous Champions League theme music.We have decided to make a parody of these advertisements, taking the advertising techniques which have become so overused, and turning them on their head.
In our advertisement, epic footballing moments are swapped for dramatic scenes from the game of petanque and the lyrics of the Champions League theme are changed in order to pay homage to the sport of petanque.
The advertisement ends by asking us to imagine a world without the Champions League.
