As Europe’s largest electronics department store, Media Markt has to corroborate its role as a leader again and again, and in a surprising way—in communication too. Therefore we broke the convention of the medium of the poster: for eight days and nights a man sat 25 meters above ground, thus establishing the world record in “sitting-in-a-flat-screen-for-1,700-euros.”
Outcome
The activity became the absolute talk of the industry and the town for the eight-day period. All relevant local media (radio, daily newspapers etc.) covered the attempt to establish the record several times. Gatherings of interested observers regularly led to crowds of people under the poster and in the street which led past it.
