Description
Families of children with type 1 diabetes often have no place to turn when it comes to dealing with the emotional impact of the disease. Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and can have a devastating affect on families. Not only do parents have to come to terms with the fact that their child has a potentially deadly disease, but they must also make significant lifestyle changes.
Execution
To promote the collaboration at the American Diabetes Association congress booth, the agency produced an animated, interactive touch screen that allowed congress attendees to navigate through a magical forest to learn about the very special resources available for healthcare professionals to give to families of children with type1 diabetes.
Outcome
A survey of 222 attendees exiting the Lilly Diabetes booth – of which the Disney interactive touch screen was a key attraction – indicated that 9 out of 10 healthcare professionals rated the booth experience as either excellent or very good. Below is a chart of additional survey results when attendees were asked to rate various statements about the booth:
