Description

Vieshow Cinemas is a popular movie theatre franchise in Taiwan. To celebrate the re-opening of its flagship movie village we were given the task in creating a interactive campaign online. Our challenge was to create a innovative and fun socially based multi-platform interactive campaign that implemented a mobile platform.

We created the “Fun Square” campaign, which was a virtual online world that participants could create a character and earn points for that character by playing games on a mobile app that was accessible for iPhone and Android systems. Users could also check-in and share with the mobile app which was directly linked to their Facebook account. The more the app was used the more points were accumulated, which in turn gave the participants a better chance at winning more prizes.

Over 3 weeks we reached astonishing results! Generating over 100 thousand participated with over 80% being first time visitors. But most importantly we created a interactive platform that allowed people to be at the Viewshow cinemas wherever they went.

Execution

The “Fun square campaign” A digitally interactive world that was accessible via different channels, so that users could gain access at anytime, anywhere.We utilised 8 different digital access channels to optimise ways to engage and participate .

Whether they used an iPhone, iPad, Android system or their personal computer everyone had the chance to be apart of the virtual world.

To have unique experiences for each device, each platform was assigned a fun interactive game exclusively to that device to help build their characters in funsquare.From their personal computers, users could control and play various point building games by using their keyboard or Facebook functions such as checking-in at vieshow cinemas or sharing with a friend. The more participants that joined funsquare the more prizes were given out. For every 250 users that participated vieshow prizes were given out via lucky draw.

Outcome

Over 3 weeks we reached astonishing results! Generating over 100,000 participated with over 80% being first time visitors. But most importantly we created a interactive platform that allowed people to be at the Viewshow cinemas wherever they went.The campaign reached across a significant amount of people and for every person that was involved the messaged reached 200 of their friends on Facebook, accumulating online word-of-mouth impressions to almost 20 million.

Post campaign Vieshows number of customers raised by almost 6% post-campaign.
