OVERVIEW

Description

The FabCafe Brand book is designed not only to promote FabCafe’ s unique activities, but also to reach out to potential partners around the world. This book could not have been created without the assistance of Fab tools like the laser-cutter. Between its pages, people will discover an excitement for new creative ideas inspired by the Fab movement. At first glance, it appears to be simply a book, but when opened 360 degrees it transforms into a magical 3D creative. This is an entirely new form of book born from a combination of CAD and laser cutter technologies.

Execution

The FabCafe Brand book is available at FabCafes around the world and is sent to those who are interested in joining the FabCafe network. It not only introduces the unique FabCafe concept, but it promotes participation in the network as well.

Outcome

We created the book by using the laser cutter, which is used to create the 3D world, to cut out the two dimensional pages, which we then pieced together to create the book which is suspended somewhere between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional worlds. When the book is opened 360 degrees, this unique and special book idea comes to life.
