Description

Most men feel ashamed to show their love towards their father. What if there was someone that could help them do the first step? Dove MEN+CARE brought a "stuntman" to give men a little push whenever things got awkward between sons and fathers.

Execution

In order to make this video real, we reached out to our Facebook page to find men who were willing to participate in it. After selecting six, we asked them to call their fathers and talk about their feelings towards them. A voice impersonator who had earlier studied the son’s voices, was next to them to give them a little push whenever they felt shy or awkward. Most of the times he “voice doubled” them during the hardest part of saying “I love dad” and prompted them to continue the conversation. The video was aired on Father’s Day 2016 on Facebook and YouTube.

Outcome

The video went viral in the first few hours. More than 8,000 people shared it on their accounts, making it one the most-shared branded videos in Greece. That led to 1.5 million views in a country of 5 million of Internet users. Various blogs, news sites and TV talk shows featured the video the following days leading to wider reach. Most importantly, men seemed to change their minds about that sensitive issue with hundreds of them writing public confessions to their father or encouraging other men to express their feelings to their fathers.
