This film by Dutch online store bol.com takes a fresh approach to holiday ads by going against the grain of the tear-jerking films we have been seeing for years.
The film promotes bol.com's 'Wish-List-Poster' that helps parents to find that perfect holiday gift for their kids. In the film we follow a young boy, who wants a doll. But when he receives a football instead, he decides to make the best of the situation. He turns the ball into a doll and seems to become best friends with the unwanted gift.
The film first appears to be ‘another one of those’ holiday ads that takes you on an emotional journey. However an unsuspecting and funny twist unfolds when the boy receives the doll he wanted all along and the football becomes a football once again. Showing everyone how important that perfect gift is for a child.
