OVERVIEW

Description

A Minotaur, a Sasquatch, and a Mermaid are on break when the Tooth Fairy walks in with a banking problem. He's been up all night collecting teeth and then had to spend part of his break in line at the bank waiting to deposit a cheque.

The mermaid has a solution for him, Cheque-In from ING DIRECT. It's an app that let's you deposit a cheque just by taking a picture of it. It sounds so unbelievable, even these fictional characters aren't buying it. So the mermaid has to take out her phone and prove its existence.

Execution

The stunt not only delivered a serious message about saving in a fun and interesting way, but by further engaging people and getting them to guess and share their answers, we also got them to stop and really think about how much they could be saving on little everyday things like coffees.

Outcome

ING DIRECT’s new saving accounts signings were up by over 20% from the same period last year.

The installation also received national and international coverage in mainstream media as well as industry forums like CTV News, Globe & Mail, The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo financial, Creativity, AdWeek, AdNews, Strategy, and Marketing Magazine.
