Execution
In a country where individuals and corporates are inundated with fundraising campaigns, we needed a strong message to break through the clutter.
We created a fundraising tool using the one thing underprivileged students can donate… Their handwriting.
We asked high school learners what they dream of becoming in the future. Then, we asked them to write an alphabet.
We scanned, traced and programmed the fonts and divided them into career categories according to the students’ dreams.
Outcome
We created FONTS FOR THE FUTURE.
We launched fontsforthefuture.com, a font website where learners’ fonts can be viewed and purchased. Here, you can test the font and meet the owner of the handwriting you’ve chosen to buy through video clips. Buyers also received a customised e-mail signature to help us increase the reach of the project.
We created a font book catalogue and sent it to corporates and individuals to drive them to our website. We named each font after the student that authored it and divided the book into different career categories. A series of posters which paid tribute to a student’s particular goal were interspersed throughout, turning the book into a collectors item.
We also used social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help spread our message. The fonts were also available on the Over, a smartphone based app for adding text to photos.
By purchasing a font from this collection, you don't only invest in the hopes and dreams of a learner, but write a better future, one
