Description
The Ford KA is the little car with a big story to tell. We wanted those stories to feel like fables – to have a magical, handmade quality. So we created miniature landscapes for the KA and its owners to inhabit, where the laws of physics and the boundaries of perception could be played with. Into these meticulously crafted miniature sets, we digitally placed full-sized cars and real actors. Our spots played out in immersive environments that lived somewhere between an impossibly large theater stage and a not-quite-real, real world.
Execution
Online users created their customized commercial by making a series of scene, music and lighting choices. In total there were 29 options in 8 categories to assist the user in a creating a unique video with thousands of possibilities. After watching their completed spot, users were then able to share it via social media. This digital experience also gave users the option to learn more about the KA's features and technology, and was responsive across all devices and browsers.
Outcome
Over 500,000 Brazilians visited the site, and 21,000 unique videos were shared. A remarkable 25% of those who completed their videos went on to build and price a KA on the site.
