Overview

Background

Children’s Hospital at Montefiore opened its doors just weeks after the attacks of 9/11, positioning it as a beacon of hope and resilience for the people of New York. This film was to honor the 20th anniversary of that moment, celebrating the success of all the children’s lives saved and changed for the better. And to show how critical children’s focused medicine is for a community as diverse and complex as the Bronx.

Idea

We were tasked to create a film showcasing the impact a world-class Children's Hospital has made on the community of the Bronx. Investment in specialized pediatric care is an investment in the health of our communities. When we provide a child with healthcare, we invest in the opportunity for that citizen to thrive and become a future leader who is active and engaged with their community. There is a potential domino effect that is often overlooked.

Strategy

First and foremost, this was a film to motivate donors to invest in the next 20 years. CHAM's existence was only made possible because of the generous New Yorkers who saw what a dedicated Children's Hospital could offer the Bronx community. This film was an opportunity to show that the mission was a success.

Execution

We created a 12-minute documentary keynote film for the annual Montefiore Gala held virtually on November 10, 2021. We had eight weeks of production and roughly four weeks of edit and post time. We filmed on a stage and on-location to achieve a beautifully relatable piece.

Outcome

The film was a massive success for Montefiore Einstein - CHAM reached its fundraising goal. We demonstrated in a sophisticated and eloquent way how the doctors and staff at Montefiore treat each child as if they are the future. CHAM leads the way in research and treatments for childhood lead-based poisoning, sickle cell anemia, and other deadly childhood diseases. Fundraising is an unfortunate necessity for hospital systems and scientific studies in the United States. Donors were energized and activated after the film so eloquently depicted how their generous donations make a lasting impact.
