Description
Dutch non-profit organization GET IT DONE supports small development projects, like schools and water wells. They work together with communities they support.
To raise awareness for GET IT DONE we worked together with the local community too.
We created an unusual fundraiser from Africa: ‘GET IT DONE in a day’. Kids from townships near Cape Town raised funds for their talent school by creating bespoke thank-you videos.
We made 174 films, raised all the funds needed and a lot of awareness - in one day. And we proved that you could do charity in a positive way by working together.
Execution
We created an unusual fundraiser from Africa: ‘GET IT DONE in a day’. Kids from townships near Cape Town raised funds for their talent school by creating bespoke thank-you videos. For every donation received, a personal video was made and returned over the web by the kids.
The donors would then start spreading their videos, bringing in new donors again.
We made 174 films, raised all the funds needed for the school and got a lot of awareness - in one day.
Outcome
Making 174 films we raised the 10.000 euro needed to set up the talent school.
With the project we had a media reach of 7 million.
The project was created with zero budget thanks to barter deals and a lot of excited volunteers.
